FBC@EP Student Leadership
We are in search of some leaders and willing to help them develop…
Our adult Student Ministry Staff began to think and pray about students that show leadership in our Student Ministry. Leadership can be a difficult specific trait to pinpoint. BUT…it can be noticed through the actions of caring individuals. Leadership is more about serving and looking out for the good of those around you than it is about being in charge or wearing the title of “Leader”. We have a joke we like to say when people brag/speak highly of themselves…”You should really let other people say that about you…” well, that definitely holds true when discussing leaders and leadership.
In our Student Ministry, we would say a leader is a Jesus follower…a leader can both lead and follow…a leader is present…a leader is humble…a leader is knowledgable…a leader is a listener…a leader is compassionate…a leader is a load bearer…a leader is willing…a leader is accountable…being a leader is heavy and also rewarding…
STUDENT MINISTRY LEADERSHIP RETREAT 2024
We are having our first Student Ministry Leadership Retreat on Friday and Saturday, March 15-16, 2024. We will spend the weekend in deep conversation about things like our salvation experiences, our prayer life, our ministry vision, the power of influence, and confidence in our faith. We will look at what that could mean for us as leaders and servants in our student ministry. We will assign some areas for each person to serve in and base that off our Spiritual Gift inventories we will take.
We will talk through our calendar for the year and discuss how our Student Ministry Team will help lead! This team is being asked to return the next weekend (March 22-23, 2024) to help lead the Incoming 7th Grader’s ENTRY Retreat at Shocco! We are excited for the opportunities to lead that are offered in that next weekend!
This LEADERSHIP WEEKEND is an INVITATION ONLY weekend. Our adult Student Ministry Staff have selected those students that have been invited. So please be discreet in discussing this retreat with other students or in front of other students. We are not trying to leave others out, we are building on what we feel we’ve seen.
